DND mission
The over-arching mission of the IU Indianapolis Coordinated Doctorate in Nutrition and Dietetics (DND) program, achieved through advanced education and supervised practicum, is to prepare entry-level registered dietitian nutritionists to meet the healthcare needs of the residents of Indiana and beyond while fostering future leaders in nutrition and dietetics.
DND program goals
Goal 1: Prepare registered dietitian nutritionists who deliver quality nutrition care and nutrition related services that reflect changing research.
Objective A: At least 80 percent of students complete program requirements within 4.5 years (150 percent of the program length).
Objective B: Of graduates who seek employment, at least 80 percent are employed in nutrition and dietetics or related fields within 12 months of graduation.
Objective C: At least 80 percent of coordinated DND program graduates take the
CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists within 12 months of program completion.
Objective D: The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists is at least 80 percent.
Objective E: 80 percent or more of the employers of DND graduates, who respond to the one-year post-employment survey, will report themselves satisfied with the preparation of the entry level dietitian.
Goal 2: Prepare registered dietitian nutritionists to meet the needs of the citizens of Indiana and beyond.Objective A: At least 50 percent of the coordinated DND program graduates will find employment in the State of Indiana within the first year of passing the
CDR credentialing registration examination for registered dietitian nutritionists.
