Study where industry leaders perfect the art of hospitality

Picture yourself crafting extraordinary guest experiences, creating inviting spaces, and elevating service to an art form. With a hospitality major, you'll master the skills needed to create unforgettable stays, oversee hotels and resorts, and manage food and beverage operations.

At IU Indianapolis, you’ll be at the heart of an industry recognized nationwide for excellence. Indianapolis is a leader in hospitality, with 12 hotels within walking distance from campus, offering 4,700 rooms connected to the city’s award-winning convention facilities. Visitor spending in the state supports nearly 83,000 full-time jobs, making hospitality a cornerstone of our state's economy. Here, you'll have the chance to volunteer or work in the vibrant city, gaining hands-on experience and applying classroom knowledge in real-world settings. You'll earn credit for some of these experiences, and prior learning credit is also an option.

By choosing IU Indianapolis, your education will be enhanced with a business foundations certificate from the prestigious Kelley School of Business. This knowledge is critical to aspiring hospitality industry leaders. As you delve into your hospitality and business courses, you'll learn to address industry challenges, sharpen your marketing and communication skills, and develop robust business operations knowledge. You’ll also gain insights into team supervision, recruitment, training, and management.

To complement your credentials, you can add a second major, certificate, or minor within the tourism, event, and sport management department. And, co-ops with White Lodging are an option, too!
