Our mission
The mission of the Indiana University Indianapolis Masters of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and the Dietetic Internship is to provide advanced graduate education and supervised practice opportunities for the preparation of future entry-level registered dietitian nutritionists in the field of nutrition and dietetics.
Goals and objectives
The overriding M.S. + D.I. program goal is to assist the M.S. + D.I. student in making the transition from student to professional.
- Objective 1: At least 80 percent of the M.S.+D.I. students complete program requirements within three years (150 percent of the program length).
- Objective 2: Of graduates who seek employment, at least 90 percent are employed in nutrition and dietetics or related fields within 12 months of graduation.
- Objective 3: 100 percent of graduates take the CDR credentialing exam for registered dietitian nutritionists within 12 months of program completion.
- Objective 4: The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for registered dietitian nutritionists is at least 80 percent.
- Objective 5: 80 percent or more of the employers of graduates, who respond to the one-year post-graduation survey, will report themselves satisfied with the preparation of the entry-level dietitian.
- Objective 6: 80 percent or more of graduates, who respond to the one-year post-graduation survey, will report satisfaction with preparation provided by the program for their first professional position.
Prepare registered dietitian nutritionists to meet the needs of the citizens of Indiana.
- Objective 1: 50 percent of graduates will find employment in the state of Indiana within the first year following graduation.
