Stephanie Bartlett is a visiting faculty member in the Department of Health & Human Sciences. She is a physical therapist with more than 30 years of clinical expertise in general acute care, with a specialty in pediatrics. After completing her bachelor's in physical therapy at the University of Vermont, Bartlett moved with her husband to Indianapolis and earned an M.S. in physical therapy (neurology and pediatric track) from the University of Indianapolis. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate at Indiana University Indianapolis School of Health & Human Sciences, focusing her academic pursuits on life span development and neurology.
Bartlett teaches in the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program. She continues to work in the clinical setting and is an adjunct faculty member at the Krannert School of Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis. In addition to teaching and clinical work, Bartlett and Amber Comer share a research lab that hosts three to four undergraduate students through IU Indianapolis Life-Health Sciences Internship Program. Bartlett enjoys working with and mentoring students through the research process.
Bartlett's clinical research focuses on palliative care and goals of care conversations with seriously ill patients and neurologic disease populations concentrating on acute stroke care. Her dissertation project focuses on a communication tool to promote meaningful prognosis discussion in acute ischemic stroke care.
