Biography

Kelly Fisher, MPAS, PA-C, joined the Indiana University PA Program in 2021 and has served as a full-time faculty member since 2022. She currently serves as the Didactic Education Director, where she oversees the didactic curriculum and student academic progress while contributing to curriculum development and program leadership.

Professor Fisher teaches across the didactic and clinical phases of the curriculum. Her teaching responsibilities have included M507 Patient Evaluation I Lab, M508 Patient Evaluation II Lab, M501 (Ophthalmology and Gastroenterology), M502 (Neurology), M503 (Emergency Medicine), M694 Clinical Skills, M696 Clinical Skills, and the clinical rotation courses M682 Elective I, M685 Surgery, and M689 Emergency Medicine.

She chairs the Didactic Curriculum Committee and serves on the program's Executive Committee, Handbook Committee, and Awards and Scholarships Committee. She is actively involved in curriculum innovation, student assessment, remediation, and success, and continuous program assessment and improvement.

Professor Fisher earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Butler University in 2008 and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Butler University in 2009. Since graduation, she has practiced clinically in emergency medicine and continues to practice clinically, bringing current, real-world experience into the classroom.

Beyond the university, Professor Fisher has served as an Indiana delegate to the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) House of Delegates for the past three years, representing and advocating for PAs across the state. She has presented regionally, nationally, and internationally on topics related to PA education, with a particular emphasis on student engagement, academic success, and innovative teaching strategies.

In 2024, Professor Fisher received a grant to develop a mass casualty incident training program for PA students. This work has since been published in the Journal of Physician Assistant Education (JPAE) and was featured on the JPAE podcast, highlighting its contribution to advancing emergency preparedness education in PA programs.
