INShape

Helping the campus community get healthy

INShape is an IU Indianapolis service-learning program that helps campus faculty and staff live healthier lives. It provides hands-on experience for exercise science and fitness management and personal training students in the School of Health & Human Sciences.

After joining the program, faculty and staff are paired with an SHHS student who will conduct a health and fitness assessment and design a personalized exercise program for the campus client. The student then serves as a personal trainer, working with the campus client to set and accomplish fitness goals.

I have participated in the INShape program many times and can’t say enough good things about it. I have enjoyed getting to know the student trainers while benefiting from their expertise and improving my health.
