Physically Active Residential Communities & Schools (PARCS)

Physically Active Residential Communities & Schools

Physically Active Residential Communities and Schools (PARCS) is a health and wellness outreach program that provides low-cost fitness and wellness services to individuals living in urban Indianapolis neighborhoods.

PARCS is a collaboration between the School of Health & Human Sciences, Eskenazi Health, the Boner Fitness and Learning Center, and public schools in Indianapolis. The program also has support from community partners and volunteers.

Locations are staffed by students from kinesiology and other departments across the campus who are committed to building stronger, healthier Indy communities.

PARCS memberships include access to one of two fitness centers with the value of group fitness classes, individualized exercise assessments, and healthy lifestyle education. Students choose from one of two locations and work directly with clients.

Membership options

Members choose from one of two PARCS locations.

Fitness Zone Indy

The near east-side location (Fitness Zone Indy) has multiple membership options including monthly, annual, and even discounted memberships for seniors, students, youth, or income-based family memberships. To sign up for this location, stop by the Fitness Zone Indy and ask the front desk about signing up for a membership!

George Washington High School

The near west side location (inside George Washington High School) only has one membership option, which is a flat annual rate. For this location, you will enter through Door 2 of the school, and a student employee will walk you through the membership process.
